Where the Atlantic Kisses the Table
Luanda’s most iconic beachfront dining experience
Long before it had a name, Pés na Areia was a feeling. It was the way Wilson Ganga would kick off his shoes the moment his feet hit the sand — that instant release, that deep exhale, that sense that everything else could wait.
Growing up in Luanda, Wilson was always drawn to the ocean. He would spend hours watching the Atlantic light shift across the water, feeling the sand between his toes, breathing in the salt air. For him, the beach was never just a place — it was a state of mind. A philosophy of living fully present.
So when the time came to build something of their own, the answer was written in the tide. Wilson and his wife, Neurite Mendes Ganga, founded Pés na Areia — literally “Feet in the Sand” — together. A shared dream built on love: for each other, for the Angolan sun, and for the joy of bringing people together by the sea. A place where food is cooked with love, drinks are poured with generosity, and the only clock that matters is the sunset.
Today, Pés na Areia is Luanda’s most beloved beachfront destination — a gathering spot for families, lovers, dreamers, and anyone who believes that life tastes better at the water’s edge.
“The beach doesn’t care about your title, your schedule, or your worries. It only asks that you show up — and leave the rest behind.”
— Wilson Ganga, Founder / Fundador
